Farmer's MarketsFarmers' markets are exempt from the restaurant and bar closures, provided they do not offer on-site consumption. Drive through markets are encouraged. No food sampling is allowed. Strong plans to support social distancing of 6 feet are important. Hand washing stations are required. All possible protections should be taken.

BuffaloFare for All will do a drive-thru model on April 14th from 4:00-6:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church (1200 Highway 25 S, Buffalo). Fare For All is The Food Group’s cooperative purchasing program that offers affordable groceries and packages of produce and meat for up to 40% off retail prices. They offer packages for sale from $10 to $30 and all are welcome to shop!

There are food shelves in Annandale, Buffalo, Clearwater, Cokato, Delano, Elk River, Hanover, Monticello, Rockford, and Waverly. Hunger Solutions is updating food shelf information daily on the Find Help Map. They are recommending that food shelves move to a drive-up or walk-up model of service with pre-packed foods to help them maintain social distancing as much as possible. Some are also going to smaller amounts of food, but allowing clients to visit weekly instead of monthly.
The University of Minnesota Extension is providing meal kits in Greater Minnesota to help serve vulnerable, isolated community members during the COVID-19 outbreak. Spokeswoman Kathy Draeger says the kits hold about 62 pounds of food, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items. Community groups and churches are paying the roughly $150 cost to put the kits together. Anyone interested in receiving the food is encouraged to call their local food shelf and ask about a 14-day meal kit.

Out-of-School Children Hunger Solutions created a map that shows all locations that will be providing free meals to out-of-school kids.
Download the "Free Meals for Kids" app on your phone to find locations that provide free meals. Kids up to the age of 18 can show up without prior sign-up for free meals.
Delano School District, in addition to their weekday meal program for children 18 and younger, has a separate weekend food option. School counselors and social workers have have coordinated with The Sheridan Story to allow any family who is in need to pick up a free weekend food bag from the school. There is no need to sign up. Students who are on Plan B are welcome to contact firstname.lastname@example.org, and staff members will make sure a bag is available for pick up with school work on a weekly basis.

Senior LinkAge (1-800-333-2433)
The Senior LinkAge will continue to be the resource to call during the COVID-19 emergency situation. They have suspended face-to-face assistance, but are fully functioning with telephone-based assistance. We can assist older adults and those providing services with alternative services if the current support network has changed. The Senior LinkAge Line team is also working closely with DHS to provide feedback on any areas in the state where more resources are needed.

Wright County Community Action (WCCA) has an Energy Assistance Program and they are currently accepting applications for assistance. Call 320-963-6500 ext. 270. Services are being provided to those with no heat due to a broken furnace or have 20% of propane or oil or less.
Crisis NurseryParents dealing with personal stress or crises such as an illness, housing problems, divorce or separation, financial strains or other issues can benefit by contacting Crisis Nursery at 320-406-8606. A child’s parent or legal guardian can request short-term care (up to three days) for children up to 12 years of age, crisis counseling and support for families, and information and referrals to additional community resources
