Pavement preservation and turn lane work continues along County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 39 from Monticello to Otsego.
Below is a two week “look ahead” for the work along CSAH 39 from Monticello to CSAH 19 (Labeaux Ave.) and then from CSAH 19 to O’Dean Ave in Otsego.
1. Monticello to CSAH 19 – Work West of Highway 19
a. Paving: Because of wet conditions, shoulder and mainline paving was stopped for this week but should resume on Monday, October 7th. Weather permitting, the goal is to complete the first phase of paving on mainline in 5 working days and shoulders will take about two weeks.
b. Turn lane widening: widening for turn lanes at intersections along the corridor is about ½ complete. This work will continue as weather allows for the next 7-10 days.
2. CSAH 19 (Labeaux Ave) to O’Dean Ave in Otsego – Work East of Highway 19
a. Paving of the new surface will continue this weekend and will be completed by October 9th, depending on weather conditions.
b. Temporary pavement markings will be in placed in the center of the newly paved surface immediately, and the final (permanent) pavement markings of the three lanes of traffic will be near the end of October.
Because of the lost time due to weather, the contractor may be working weekends, including Sundays, to complete the project on time.
The project is planned for an early November completion, at which time the detour will be removed.
We would like to remind everyone that for the safety of the workers and efficiency of construction the roadway is closed and only open to people that have a destination within the work zone without any alternate routes.
