It’s Election Day and Wright County Elections has some important reminders for voters.
1. Voters can’t vote in-person at the Wright County Government Center today. It served as one of the sites for voting absentee prior to the election, but now voters need to go to their assigned local polling place to cast votes in-person.
2. Absentee ballots are not collected at polling places. If you live in one of eight cities in the county (Albertville, Buffalo, Delano, Hanover, Howard Lake, Monticello, Otsego or St. Michael), you can drop your ballot off at the City Hall of those cities or at the drop box at the north entrance to Wright County Government Center. If you live in a city not listed above or any county township and want to drop your absentee ballot, you must bring it to the drop box at the Government Center by 3 p.m.
3. The deadline for delivering ballots to the Government Center or those listed City Halls is 3 p.m.
4. If you attempt to drop a ballot at your local polling place, it can’t be accepted, but you can keep your absentee ballot and vote in person on site.
