Sheriff's Office Beard Challenge Raises More than $18,000

A Message from the Wright County Sheriff’s Office

The Sheriff’s Office is very proud to announce that the 2020 Beard Challenge was able to raise and donate an amazing $18,330 to RiverWorks of Rockford. This wonderful organization aligns and mobilizes community resources to deliver powerful solutions which meet the emotional, physical, relational and spiritual needs of people connected to the Rockford/Greenfield area. This is the 2nd year of the Wright County Sheriff’s Office Beard Challenge. This year deputies needed to donate and/or raise at least $150 to be able to grow their beard. Every deputy you see with a beard until the end of 2020 has met this donation goal. Female staff were also encouraged to participate as judges in the final judging. To become a judge a minimum of $50 needed to be donated. Many deputies and Sheriff’s Office staff went above and beyond the minimum donation and many just donated and chose not to sport the man-beard. We are thrilled that this has become such a popular event amongst the Sheriff’s Office staff and love to see the money that these men and women have donated go to such a great organization that shares our values and commitment to our wonderful community.
