Wright County Public Health has released its weekly COVID-19 dashboard for the period covering Dec. 11-17. The past week marked Wright County experiencing its 10,000th confirmed case of COVID-19. As has been the trend throughout Minnesota, the number of new confirmed cases has declined over the last week, but the number of deaths has increased.
The number of new confirmed cases was 601 – the smallest weekly increase since the start of November. However, the weekly numbers included 34 hospitalizations, six cases that required admission to an Intensive Care Unit and 14 deaths – the highest single-week death total since the pandemic began. The county’s totals are now 10,129 cases, 388 that have required hospitalization, 68 cases that required ICU care and 69 deaths.
