The 2017 Pavement Preservation Contract involves the following highways in Wright County: County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 6 from US 12 in Howard Lake to TH 55 east of Annandale; CSAH 9 from Waverly to CSAH 35; CSAH 16 from the south county line to Delano; CSAH 30 in Delano west of CSAH 16; CR 108 southwest of Buffalo between CSAH 9 & 12 and CR 110 south of Montrose.
Type of work includes milling, reclaiming the existing bituminous surface and aggregate base, paving two layers of bituminous mixture, aggregate shouldering, pavement markings and mailbox supports.
The prime contractor for this contract is Knife River Corp. – North Central, Sauk Rapids, MN. Work is scheduled to begin the week of June 19. All work on this contract is anticipated to be completed by the end of August, 2017.
Also included in this contract is the installation of swing-away mailbox supports at no cost to the resident (rural highways). This mailbox support meets current safety standards and will be installed after the paving is completed. Mailbox supports in urban areas, behind the curb, will not be replaced. Only those existing mailboxes that are located directly on the shoulder of a rural county highway will be replaced with new supports. If you currently have a county installed swing-away support, it will remain in-place and adjusted to match the new road grade.
Traffic will be directed by flag people near and through the work zone. Please be prepared to expect minor delays during construction activity. A detour of traffic will not be necessary during construction, except on CR 108, which will be closed for approximately one week for bridge deck repairs. This work is expected to start next Tuesday, June 20th, and last for about one week.
