We often exchange emails with partners in the county that require encryption to protect private and sensitive information. Beginning in early April 2018, how we provide that protection will be changing.
As part of our move to Office 365 for Government, protected email will be processed through the O365 set of tools. When Wright County sends a protected (encrypted) email, you will see a message in your email inbox that contains an HTML file attachment that you can open to view the message on the Office 365 Message Encryption portal. When the secure email portal opens, if you have a Microsoft account you select “sign in”. If you do not have a Microsoft account, you select “use one-time passcode” and follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
A printable version of how to open an encrypted email from Wright County is available here. While the pictures might look different when compared with your email service, the general steps will be the same.
Here are some helpful links from Microsoft about opening protected email.
