2018 Pavement Preservation Construction Update

CR 129 west of CSAH 3 in French Lake Township. The Clearwater/Pleasant Lake Park trail will also be paved north of Annandale.

The type of work includes milling, reclaiming the existing bituminous surface and aggregate base, paving two layers of bituminous mixture, aggregate shouldering, and pavement markings.

The prime contractor for this contract is Knife River Corp. – North Central, Sauk Rapids, MN. Work is scheduled to begin the week of May 14.  All work on this contract is anticipated to be completed by the end of July.

After work on this contract is complete, County staff will install a “swing-away” type mailbox support, at no cost to the resident, at locations where the existing mailbox support does not conform to Wright County policy. This mailbox support meets current safety standards and will be installed after the paving is completed. Mailbox supports in urban areas, behind the curb, will not be replaced. Only those existing mailboxes that are located directly on the shoulder of a rural county highway will be replaced with new supports. If you currently have a county installed swing-away support, it will remain in-place.

Traffic will be directed by flag people near and through the work zone.  Please be prepared to expect minor delays during construction activity. A detour of traffic will not be necessary during construction.

The Wright County Highway Department greatly appreciates your patience during construction on this important improvement project.
