American Rescue Plan Act
The American Rescue Plan Act was passed and became law in March of 2021. The Act provides relief and a means to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic by allocating funds to aid governments in creating new programs or to support existing ones, which are directly linked to addressing challenges that arose from the pandemic.
Wright County’s ARP-SLFRF Allocation was $26,878,110 to assist in community recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. All funds received by Wright County must be obligated to programs or projects by December 31st, 2024. These funds must then be spent by December 31, 2026.
The allowable uses of the ARPA funds include:
- Business and Economic Relief
- Economic Assistance for Wright County 4-H: $60,677
- Economic Assistance for Community Dental Care: $200,000
- Cokato Charitable Trust - Replace Furniture: $50,000
- Safe Communities - Drive Safely Work Week: $10,000
- Education, Jobs, and Training
- Technology Support and Training for Seniors: $66,000
- Families
- Volunteer Recruitment for Safe Families: $19,462
- Expand Emergency Assistance: $150,000
- Operation Living Hope Program: $11,601
- Infrastructure
- Broadband Improvements: $5,895,000
- Water and Sewer Grants: $4,000,000
- Water Quality Improvement Projects: $147,765
- Lake Pulaski LID Pump Replacement: $300,000

Through ARPA, Wright County has had the opportunity to create many new programs for the recovery of the community, based on impacts of COVID-19.
ARPA Fund Allocation Survey Report
New to the 2021 Community Health Survey, participants were asked, “As Wright County prioritizes support across communities with COVID-19 recovery funds, what areas of concern do you think we should address?”. This free response question was answered by 684 survey participants.
