As part of National Get Outdoors Day Saturday (June 12), the Wright County Parks Department will be hosting an orienteering class at Collinwood Regional Park and Campground in Cokato.
The free event will be conducted from 1 to 3 p.m. and will teach participants how to properly use a compass while enjoying the great outdoors as well as teaching participants how to tell what direction they’re heading with or without a compass.
National Get Outdoors Day started in 2008. Parks across the country take part in the event with the goal of encouraging more people, especially children, to explore parks, forests and wilderness areas.
