Wright County Health and Human Services and MEADA (Mentorship, Education and Drug Awareness) will be co-sponsoring an event dealing with destigmatizing substance use disorders.
“In Other Words: Combatting Stigma and Transforming Culture Through Language Change” is an event presented by Dr. Alena Balasanova, a nationally and internationally published clinician who specializes in addiction psychiatry education and destigmatizing substance use disorders. Dr. Balasanova was awarded the American Medical Foundation Award for Health Education.
Dr. Balasanova will make two presentation of Thursday, Aug. 12 – one for professionals from 3-4:30 p.m. and another for community members from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Buffalo High School (877 Bison Boulevard).
