The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for noon to 8 p.m. today for several Minnesota counties in central and southern Minnesota, including Wright County.
With temperatures expected to be in the mid-90s and heat indices between 95 and 100 degrees the likelihood of heat illness is increased for those engaged in strenuous outdoor activities. Heat illnesses are more common among children, the elderly and those with preexisting health conditions, so caution is being advised and those groups are being told to drink plenty of water and take breaks from the heat inside an air-conditioned building.
