Last year, the Minnesota Department of Transportation initiated a contest called Name a Snowplow, with the eight MnDOT regions all having a plow named by Minnesotans. MnDOT didn’t know what the response would be, but it was inundated with thousands of submissions so the contest is returning.
Fifty finalists will be selected and then a public vote will determine the winners. The eight winning entries last year were Plowy McPlowface, Ope Just Gonna Plow Right Past Ya, Duck Duck Orange Truck, Plow Bunyan, Snowbi Wan Kenobi, F. Salt Fitzgerald, Darth Blader and The Truck Formerly Known As Plow.
As the names imply, no submission is too corny or ridiculous for submission. Submissions can be made now until until midnight Wednesday, Dec. 15. To see the ground rules for the contest and the submission form go to the MnDOT website at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/nameasnowplow/
