At its meeting this morning (Dec. 21), the Wright County Board of Commissioners approved participation in Minnesota Housing Finance Agency’s Minnesota Cities Participation Program. Wright County has been part of MCPP since 2008 – a program designed to provide low-interest loans to first-time homebuyers.
The county is not an active participant in the program, but authorizes allocation amounts that are used by approved lenders for mortgages. Last year, Wright County’s initial allocation with $2 million and the program had 147 loans processed totaling more than $37 million.
