Wright County Highway Department Maintenance Superintendent Nate Helgeson said that, as of 9 a.m. today, all Wright County roads and highways have had a first pass from snowplows and that the entire county fleet of plows will be out throughout the duration of today’s storm.
Snow is expected to continue throughout the afternoon and end between 5 and 6 p.m. with 3-4 inches of snow expected with more snow falling in the western portion of the county. When the snow moves through, temperatures are going to drop below zero tonight, so it is imperative the plows do their work to clear roads of snow and ice before the deep freeze hits and it becomes much more difficult to remove.
The Wright County Highway Department would like to thank drivers who are mindful of the job they’re doing as slower moving vehicles and showing patience as they do their work.
