On a day like today with accumulating and blowing throughout Wright County, the last thought many have would be the Wright County Fair coming July 20-24, 2022. However, the fair is front of mind for the organizers and, while still months away, the preparation is in full swing.
Commissioner Mike Kaczmarek discussed the most recent Fair Board meeting and some key decisions have been made. Last year at the 150th Wright County Fair, the Fair Board voted to allow free admission to children 17 and under. That will continue this year.
Due to the success of the circus at last year’s fair, it has been confirmed that the circus will be returning in 2022.
One of the biggest differences will be the promotion of the fair. For decades, a staple of the fair has been the guidebook that was distributed prior to the fair and available during the fair. It was determined that, at a cost of $20,000 to print, the return wasn’t adequate for the investment. Starting this year, the guidebook will be available online with online sponsorships available for area businesses.
As more attractions and events are confirmed, details will be shared about what to expect at the 151st Wright County Fair.
