Gregory Ulrich, the accused shooter at the Allina-Crossroads Clinic in February 2021, had a preliminary hearing today (Monday, Feb. 28).
Wright County Attorney Brian Lutes laid out the timeline that will be coming over the next three months. At today’s hearing, Ulrich and his attorney waived his right to challenge Omnibus issues relating to the manner in which the police gathered evidence. The case will be moving forward with motions in limine being heard Friday, April 22. At that hearing, the attorneys will argue evidentiary issues. A status conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 12.
At today’s hearing, the defense mentioned a possible request for a change of venue. The judge ordered deadlines for submission of any potential change-of-venue requests – Monday, April 4 for the defense and Monday, April 11 for the response of the county attorney’s office.
The beginning of jury selection for his trial on first-degree murder charges remains Monday, May 16.
