Wright County departments currently in the existing Wright County Government Center in downtown Buffalo will be doing a phased move March 21-30 to the new Government Center at 3650 Braddock Ave. NE north of Buffalo. Below is the expectation of when specific services will be unavailable from these departments:
Assessor – The office will move into the new Government Center Wednesday, March 23. The is no expectation of being shut down or have a disruption of work done in the office.
Health & Human Services – The department will be moving from Friday, March 18 through Tuesday, March 22. The office won’t be completely shut down, but there will be limited service those three business days. Business is expected to be fully open in the new Government Center on Wednesday, March 23.
License Center – The last day for making driver’s license renewal appointments will be Friday, March 18. Front service counter and walkup window will be walk-in only from Monday, March 21 to Tuesday, March 29. The office will be closed Wednesday, March 30 as staff and equipment are moved to the new Government Center. The hope is to have a soft opening for the drive-thru area the afternoon of Thursday, March 31. The anticipation is that both the lobby and drive-thru will be fully open to walk-in traffic Friday, April 1. Appointment scheduling is expected to begin Monday, April 4.
Planning & Zoning – The office will be closed Monday, March 28. The office will remain open in the existing Government Center until the end of business Friday, March 25 and will fully reopen for all services Tuesday, March 29.
Recorder – The public access area of the office will be closed the week of March 28 to April 1. The office will be closed Tuesday, March 29 and Wednesday, March 30. While the office is closed those two days, the following services will be unavailable – abstractor public records, birth certificates, credential filing, death certificates, property conveyances/divisions/combinations, marriage applications, marriage certificates, marriage licenses, notary registration, notary services, plats and recordings (real estate, military discharges, state tax liens and federal tax liens).
Taxpayer Services – Will close to the public end of day Wednesday, March 23 at the current Government Center and will open at the new Government Center Monday, March 28. Impact services that will be unavailable at that time will include in-person property tax payments (online payments will be accepted throughout the process) and passports (which will close at noon Wednesday, March 23 and reopen Monday, March 28).
Veteran Services – Starting Tuesday, March 22, the office will be limited to emergency services only. The office will be closed the remainder of the week (March 22-25) and will reopen Monday, March 28.
