A Message from the Wright County License Center:
The License Center is an approved Third-Party Proctor for the Class D Written Knowledge Exams only. No road tests of any type, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) written tests, or the motorcycle permit test are offered at the License Center. Only State Exam stations can administer road tests, CDL tests and motorcycle tests per state statute.
Class D Written Knowledge Exams are being offered by appointment on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The test is done electronically and can be taken in English or Spanish. There is a $10 fee due at time of exam. The Class D written knowledge exam is needed for new drivers wanting to obtain an Instruction Permit or current drivers transferring their out-of-state license to Minnesota. Proper identification must be provided prior to taking the exam. For applicants under 18 years old, the ‘Blue Card’ from the mandatory classroom course is also a requirement. The License Center accepts all forms of payment (cash, check or credit card with an additional service fee).
Currently, the License Center is offering more than 100 appointment slots per week for this service. Appointments can be made up to 30 days in advance at this link: https://wcomnappt.cxmflow.com/Appointment/Index/2c052fc7-571f-4b76-9790-7e91f103c408
