The 2022 Wright County Fair is less than a month away – Wednesday, July 20 to Sunday, July 24 – and the fair is gearing up for its 151st annual celebration.
A list of events have been announced. For those looking to save some money, a pre-Fair special is already available to purchase a $25 unlimited ride wrist band for $20 by visiting www.wrightcountyfair.org.
Here is an alphabetical list of the events going on during the Fair:
Alfy’s World of Robotic Puppets – Thursday through Sunday with strolling performances throughout the Fairgrounds.
All-American Lumberjack Show – Three free shows each day from Thursday to Sunday – one in early-afternoon, late-afternoon and evening.
Amateur Talent Show – 6 p.m. Thursday at the Hoop Building. There will be three divisions of competition – Pre-teen, Teen and Open Class (any age).
AWF Pro Wrestling – 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hoop Building. Tickets are $10 and will be on sale the day of the event.
Bingo – Noon to close every day of the fair. The bingo area is located across from the Fair office.
Cash Drawings – Wednesday through Saturday after 9 p.m., Sunday after 8 p.m.
Church Service – 10 a.m. Sunday.
Collector Car & Truck Show – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the west end of the Fairgrounds near Machinery Hill.
Collector Tractor and Garden Tractor Pull – 4 p.m. Thursday.
Diaper Derby – 11 a.m. Saturday in front of the Old School House.
Dr. Street Magic Show – Strolling throughout the Fairgrounds from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Drawing for two bicycles – 5 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (anyone who purchases an unlimited ride wristband is eligible each day).
Entertainment Tent – Hours of operation noon to midnight Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to midnight Frida and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
Entertainment Tent Live Schedule of Events: 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday – Chopper “The World’s Nuttiest D.J.”; 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday – Menace; 8 p.m. to midnight Friday – Red Dot Garage; 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday – Shane Martin Band; 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday Sherwin Linton & the Cotton Kings.
5K Run – 8 a.m. Saturday. Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. Early entry (by Thursday, July 14) $15. Day of event registration $20. Age classes based in 10-year increments.
4-H Blue Ribbon Auction – 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 4-H Dairy Arena.
Grandstand Shows – Motokazie Supercross, 7 p.m. Wednesday ($10/$5 for children 12 and under); Combine, Power Wheels and Lawn Mower Derby, 7 p.m. Thursday ($10 reserved seating); Demo Derby, 7 p.m. Friday ($10 reserved seating); Tractor Pull 5 p.m. Saturday ($10 general admission/$5 children 12 and under); Demo Derby, 5:30 p.m. ($10 reserved seating). Kids Coin Scramble – 1:30 p.m. each day of the Fair south of the General Exhibit Building.
KRWC Road Show – 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday from the KRWC Road Show bus.
Kids Tractor Pedal Pull – 4 p.m. Saturday.
Los Moralitos Circus – Performances Wednesday through Sunday. Start times TBA.
Merriam’s Midway Show – 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday; 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday; 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Military Day – Starts at 11 a.m. Saturday. Free admission and parking to any service member showing military identification as well as their spouses and children age 17 and under.
Motorcycle Show – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Mutton Bustin’ Competition – 1 p.m. Saturday.
Paul Bunyan: Loggin’, Legends & Lore – Thursdays at the Free Stage. Showtimes are at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Pinewood Derby and Tractor Race – Noon Saturday at Boy Scout booth on Machinery Hill.
Senior Citizens Day – Lunch at 11:30 a.m. Friday followed by a program at 1 p.m. Lunch is provided by Coborn’s of Delano. The program will be on the free stage and will include the 2022 Outstanding Senior Citizens and Friend of the Fair Award, as well as recognition of the oldest man and woman at the Fair, the longest married couple, Century Farms and Wright County Outstanding Family Farm. Free Day Admission for all seniors 60+ years old until 1 p.m.
Work Wright at the Fair – A meet and greet careers in Wright County event. KRWC AM 1360 will be broadcasting live 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Youth Ranch Sorting – 6 p.m. Saturday at the horse arena.
