After four years, we can finally see the finish line of the I-94 project between Clearwater and Maple Grove.
This afternoon (Aug. 4), the I-94 Monticello to Clearwater Maintenance of Traffic Task Force met and announced the timeline for concluding construction on I-94 between Monticello and Hasty.
The projected date for eastbound traffic moving back to the eastbound lanes is Saturday, Aug. 13. The Enfield Rest Area, which has been closed since this spring, is slated to re-open Tuesday, Aug. 16.
Starting Aug. 13, eastbound traffic will be restricted to two lanes as work is completed in the median, including the placement of high-tension wires in between eastbound and westbound traffic. In the westbound lanes, traffic will be reduced to one lane overnights between Monticello and Hasty while barriers are removed and the three lanes of traffic are restriped.
The anticipation is that by the end of the month all work will be completed and three lanes of traffic in both directions from Monticello to Clearwater will be open.
