A Message from Wright County Elections:
The filing period for the Tuesday, March 14 township elections opened today (Jan. 3) and runs through Tuesday, Jan. 17.
A total of 15 Wright County townships will conduct township board elections this year. In Minnesota, most township elections are held on the second Tuesday in March. Some townships have exercised the option of having elections biennially in November and won’t be electing new board members in March. Depending on the township, a board may consist of township supervisors, a clerk, a treasurer or a clerk/treasurer.
Anyone who files, but later wishes to withdraw has until 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 to withdraw his or her candidacy.
To file for office, the submission of an affidavit of candidacy is required with your local township clerk. There is a $2 filing fee. Contact your local township clerk for more information and when and where filings will be accepted. Here are some links to access the applicable information:
