Wright County remains in an Air Quality Alert through the day today and into tonight. The issue has been warm air aloft – approximately 50 degrees a mile up – that is trapping pollutants near the surface. The Pollution Control Agency has reported this has been the longest stretch of poor winter air quality since December 2005. The very young, the elderly and those with respiratory issues are advised to limit their time outside. For those who will be in the Twin Cities metro area, the Air Quality is so bad that all people are being urged to limit time outside because there is a version of smog that has formed. Tonight the clouds are expected to move out and usher in colder temperatures, which will improve the air quality.
