This is Severe Weather Awareness Week and today’s topic is timely given conditions and across Minnesota – flooding. Flood kills approximately 200 people a year nationally and force more than 300,000 people from their homes. In 2019, six out of the nine state- and federally-declared disasters in Minnesota involved flooding. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety and Homeland Security Management have several links and advice for flood preparedness that can be found here: https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/hsem/weather-awareness-preparedness/Pages/severe-weather-flooding.aspx
