A message from the Wright County Sheriff’s Office:
At approximately 9:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, Jan. 2), the Wright County Communications Center received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 35 W and County Road 7 SW in Middleville Township. Wright County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded along with officers from the Howard Lake Police Department. Howard Lake Fire and Rescue also responded.
The investigation indicates a 2015 Kenworth semi-tractor pulling a grain trailer was northbound on County Road 7 SW and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with County Road 35 W. The semi-tractor collided with a 2013 Cadillac CTS that was traveling east on County Road 35 W.
The driver of the Cadillac, Christopher Gallagher, 40, from Cokato, needed extrication from his vehicle by the Howard Lake Fire Department. Gallagher was transported by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the semi-tractor, Isadore Mallak, 40, from Wadena, was not injured. Mallak was cited at the scene for careless driving.
