4. Where can I get forms to get custody of my child?

Custody forms are statewide forms, however, Wright County does things differently than some of the statewide procedures. The forms are located here and you can contact the Law Library to get more specifics. Custody information and forms

5. I lost my job or have a change in my income. How can I change the amount I pay for child support?

You can request to change your child support by filing a Motion to Modify Child Support. There is a filing fee associated with filing this motion. The forms can be found here. Motion to Modify Child Support Forms

6. How do I apply for or renew my Minnesota Notary Public Commission?

Most of the Notary application process comes from the Minnesota Secretary of State. Once you have received your Notary Public Commission you will record it with the county where you reside. The process and fees are explained here. Minn Secretary of State - Notary Public

7. I've been charged with a crime and I need legal advice, but I can't afford to hire an attorney. Will the county appoint one for me?

In criminal cases you can apply for a public defender. If the judge finds that you meet the financial guidelines for their services, they will appoint one for you. If you don't qualify for a Public Defender, but would still like to get legal advice, you can speak to a volunteer attorney through the Wright County Defense Panel the day of your hearing. Check with Court Administration at least an hour prior to your scheduled hearing. Apply for a Public Defender

8. I need legal advice on a divorce or custody case. Can the county appoint me a lawyer?

Wright county doesn't appoint lawyers in family law matters, however, Central Minnesota Legal Serivces offers legal assistance to people who financially qualify. Their website is linked here. 9. I need to file a small claim against someone. How do I go about doing that?
